Privacy Policy
Last updated: 18 June 2026
This policy explains how Fanzclub handles your personal data. Fanzclub is run by Jan Erik Meidell as an individual developer, serving fans in Norway and Switzerland.
Who is responsible
Fanzclub is operated by Jan Erik Meidell (the “data controller”), Norway/Switzerland. Contact: janerik.meidell@gmail.com.
Data we collect
- Account details: name, email, optional phone number and profile photo.
- App activity: your chosen team, supporter-club membership, predictions and tips.
- Messages: content you post in club chats and images you share.
- Device identifier: a unique ID for your device, used to keep you signed in.
- Website visits: the pages you open on fanzclub.app, together with your IP address, approximate location (city and country), browser and device type. Used only for visitor statistics and never linked to your account.
How we use your data
- To provide the app’s features (chat, predictions, statistics).
- To show content relevant to your chosen club.
- To calculate prediction-game points and rankings.
- To display sponsor advertising — never built on profiling of your personal data.
Legal bases
We process data under the EU/EEA GDPR and the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (revFADP). Depending on the case, our basis is the performance of our contract with you (providing the app), your consent (e.g. optional data), or our legitimate interest in running and improving the service.
Sharing your data
- We never sell your personal data.
- We use service providers (processors) only to run the app — notably our hosting provider (see below).
- Sponsors and advertisers receive only anonymous, aggregated figures — never your personal data.
Storage, hosting and security
Data is stored on secure servers in the EU (Render.com, Frankfurt, Germany). All transfer is encrypted over HTTPS. We keep your data only as long as your account exists; deleting your account removes it.
International transfers
For users in Norway and Switzerland, data is hosted in the EU. Norway (EEA) and Switzerland are recognised as providing adequate data protection for transfers to and from the EU, so no additional safeguards are required.
Your rights
- Access: view all your data in the app under My Profile.
- Deletion: permanently delete your account via My Profile → Delete account.
- Rectification and objection: correct your data or object to certain processing.
- Complaint: you may complain to your supervisory authority — Datatilsynet in Norway, or the FDPIC in Switzerland.
Children
The app is not directed at children below the age of consent in your country. If you believe a child has provided personal data, contact us and we will remove it.
Changes
We may update this policy. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page.
